Shanghai Summer unfolds in the year 2003, focusing on Baichuan, who begins to question the reality of his memories after receiving an unexpected invitation from his ex-girlfriend, Qiuyu. As he navigates through twelve summer days, he encounters various characters, including Fengyi, a dream-chasing artist; Xiaobo, a troubled high school student; and Jingxian, a university student facing family burdens. Despite their chaotic lives, they confront their regrets and strive to live fully. The gameplay involves gathering ‘Topics’ and ‘Clues’ from everyday experiences to delve into the emotions and thoughts of those closest to you. Players seek comfort and inspiration from friends, ultimately aiming to transform life’s small moments into strength, culminating in an effort to “fix” a fractured dream by the end of the twelfth night. The game takes players through familiar settings like classrooms and cafes, where the mundane holds the potential for new beginnings and the chance to change one’s destiny.
